Quest Calendar View (qCalendarView)
The qCalendarView web part
displays time-based data held in SharePoint lists. In it's
simplest form the qCalendarView can display data from the
SharePoint "Calendar" list type.

On the face of it the result appears no different to the
Standard SharePoint web part that gets created by default when
you create a calendar list. However, the power of the
qCalendarView web part comes
with the ease with which you can devise your own
custom detail page which uses
a qListForm web part to hold the data for a calendar entry.
The fact that you can very easily put together a custom details
page (without coding), and the ability to configure the
qListForm to display list items and add ancilliary data, all
without requiring custom code, is highly productive.
In addition, you can then add custom actions and custom display
features, enhancing considerably the impact of the qCalendarView
web part beyond what can be achieved otherwise, without custom
code.
In addition to the Calendar list, you can also use the
qCalendarView web part to display time-based data from
any other list type as long as
records have a start and end date and recurrance flag as part of
their structure. This makes the web part extremely
flexible. Indeed, as with the qSelector and qListView web
parts, the qCalendarView can be used to
roll-up data from multiple
lists. As long as the columns being referenced or
displayed are the same in all lists sourced, the qCalendarView
will make sense of the data and will display it correctly.
An example of how this can be used is with schedules for use by
a restricted audience. One could create a list or calendar
list with restricted access and roll that up with other calendar
lists in the qCalendarView. Only those eligible to view
the restricted data will see the same when the qCalendarView web
part is displayed.
